12/12/09 - LOF held its 8th annual SANTA vs GRINCH THEME DAY today. For the second year in a row Santa was victorious bringing the overall score to a tie with Santa claiming 4 wins and the Grinch holding 4 victories. We'll have to wait and see who wins the tie-breaker in 2010. You can view pictures from this year's event (2009) by clicking here (Part 1 - taken by Toby Gilreath) and here (Part 2 - taken by Jeff Shipman).

Playing Rudolph this year was Bobby Price (on left) in mission 1 and James Shufer (not pictured) in missions 2 & 3. Playing the part of Santa (for the second year in a row) was Chris Duffey (on right). The majority of their elves were played by the crew from Command 56 Paintball out of South Carolina. Congrats on your win, gentlemen.

Taking on the role of Max was Chris Chavez (on left) and his brother, Charlie Chavez (on right) played The Grinch. Hats off to the 2 gentlemen for stepping up and taking on the roles. They fought hard all day and were always at Santa's heels. The final score, 3400 to 1200, doesn't do justice to the efforts put forth by the Grinch and his Gremlins.

Among the day's highlights were many 'stand-offs' between out teams. Here is a second before a dual elimination. Hats off to all our players on both sides for playing such stand up ball.
